19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since March of the previous year.

Success also signifies he has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to create a final set.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
